There is plenty on offer for families in Llangollen. The traditional steam railway, which takes you through the beautiful Dee Valley, is popular with kids and adults alike. At frequent times of the year, Thomas the Tank Engine pays a visit to the station too! There are also horse drawn boat rides along the canal.

There are a number of events throughout the year in and around Llangollen, including the International Musical Eisteddfod, a world-renowned festival of music, song and dance, attracting more than 120,000 visitors each year. The Fringe Festival welcomes music, performance and comedy, and provides an ideal opportunity for visitors to mix with the locals. Llangollen also plays host to the Hot Air Balloon Festival, the Motorcycle Show, the International Canoeing Slalom, and many more events.
